Physician opinions regarding the added value of CPD simulation over traditional ad hoc approach. (20/24 pediatric emergency medicine physicians responded to an online survey on personal opinions regarding simulations for continuing professional development adhering to a curriculum model, in comparison with simulations devised shortly in advance of a simulation session based on personal request (ad hoc approach). The majority of physicians felt the curriculum allowed them to experience more diverse clinical presentations outside of their comfort zone. The curriculum approach also encouraged mastery learning and created a more psychologically safe and predictable simulation experience.)
